The tightly-edited outfits comprising Metamorphosis include two waterproof technical coats, the Steam Coat (which has a \u201cdisappearing\u201d hood) and the Chrysalid Coat (which transforms into an easy-to-wear cape); the double-sided, Duchess satin Dress Coat(which elicits the question, \u201cIs it a dress or a coat?\u201d); the technical,Cocoon outfit (featuring integrated accessories); and the wool, Shawl Outfit (which fuses a shawl with the jumper).<\/em>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row row_padding_top=”padding_top_none” row_padding_bottom=”padding_bottom_none” css=”.vc_custom_1540891314987{padding-right: 10px !important;padding-left: 10px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1\/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1540890263665{padding-right: 5px !important;padding-left: 5px !important;}”][vc_single_image image=”3032″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text el_class=”col-sm-offset-2″]<\/p>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1540890274774{padding-right: 5px !important;padding-left: 5px !important;}”][vc_single_image image=”3033″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row row_padding_top=”padding_top_none” row_padding_bottom=”padding_bottom_none”][vc_column width=”5\/6″ offset=”vc_col-sm-offset-1″][vc_column_text]The collection\u2019s shades-of-white color choice is an equally practical one which F\u00e9licie explains: \u201cI need to focus on the principle, the system and not on the colors [or] anything that could pull one\u2019s attention [away].\u201d Living in Iceland when she was younger and dealing with extreme temperature differences between inside and outside left an impression on F\u00e9licie which explains why her collection centers around acclimatization whilst her studies in industrial and product design made her \u201clook at garments as functional objects and not just for their aesthetic values.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

She credits designers likeHussein Chalayan as influencers: \u201cPeople who really suggest something new, conceptual but unexpected.\u201d That being said, her work isn\u2019t abstract but rather \u201cfamiliar\u201d, encourages interactions between people and their garments, for they are made for people living in today\u2019s world, \u201cnot for tomorrow and not for a museum,\u201d as she puts it.<\/em>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
